Shallow gags and lionfish

Went out of Hernando today to try to find any shootable vis. It was dirty but shootable in 25’ and really clean in 8-15’ but then dirty again shallower than that with a ripping current everywhere. We got a handful of gags off shallow rocks between 8-15’ and some decent hogs and mangos deeper. I shot a lionfish off a rock in 7’. That’s by far the shallowest I’ve seen them.

Great report! Hopefully that lionfish just got lost from all the recent storms... I'd hate to see them start moving in like that...

We only saw one 20 miles west of NPR in 50 feet, but damn it was BIG.

I have seen them in 3 ft water in key west. Water is still very dirty down here, debri floating everywhere. A lot of boats that have sunk. Still a mess. Have some traps out for stone crabs- hope its good.
