Anyone using Side Scan

So I bought a Garmin Combination unit with side scan I'm still working to get the boat finished and start using it. I'm curious what results people have had and what they think of it.
It would seem with all the small out cropping's to the north of Port Richey it would be a bonus to see a wider pass of the bottom

Side view not side scan. They are excellent for finding anything that is above the bottom. I have a 7610 and have found hundreds of wrecks. If you expect to find anything keep your speed under 5 mph. And fairly calm seas. Wrecks, cages and small pyrimids will show up as a tiny spot or a blur on screen. Run over a couple known spots to see how it looks. I set mine on 200 ft scale. And run about 4 mph.
Good thing is if you see a possible spot you just mark it and tell the machine to go to the waypoint. Most garmins have the owners manuel in the gps.

Works great at slow speeds and reasonably calm sea states

Like others said, mine works great for shallower water and slow moving.

Guys Thank you I ho[e in thee next month to get it off the trailer and start playing with it.
Out of Pasco and to the north there are so many small outcrop of hard bottom and if your 20 feet to the side of it you never see it on standard bottom machine. well that was my thought when I bought it
