It needs to have a littttle slide, ie enough for the tip to disengage. The reason is that if the tip passes through a fish or even part way and then goes to pull out, the line or cable can bend back...

Essentially you are folding the shooting line over the shaft at the mid point of the shooting line. We've done plenty of filming in slow motion to show what happens to your lines when you shoot.

It is pretty thick. You could thin out the body, I see you are limited in the muzzle by hole placement, but you could thin out the body like a Koah?

Sounds like a reasonable amount of Lead for a BIG gun. Any pics? Maybe show some pics before you put in lead or epoxy. mmm.. Black Locust. nice choice. Cedar... not so sure about that.

I would just ballast is before the epoxy. And even before you drill any of the holes for fixtures like handle etc. you can tape the screws, onto the handle and tape handle onto...
