Re: Boat advice

I don’t know how much money you want to spend but there’s a 1976 SeacrFt 23 with a 2015 Suzuki four stoke on craigslist San Diego for $18K. Do a little research on this hull. Probably on of the...

Re: Completed 53" Midhandle build

Great looking gun. It looks like it has enough weight to it to manage recoil pretty well. How does it shoot?

Re: Boat advice

Take a good look at the transom. I’ve heard Grady transom issues are pretty common.
I’d also consider that you’re probably going to get about 1.7 mpg with that motor.

Probably a great boat for...

Re: Wood borer

Check out Nuvan Pro strips. These gas gas off and the fumes will penetrate into the holes. You either need to bag it or wrap it with stretch wrap around the outside of the Nuvan Strip.

Another...

Re: AB Biller 48 special modifications?

For low vis conditions I think a 48 Biller is a good gun. I had one for years and felt really confident on my shots. In fact, if it came down to my old Biller 48 vs. my 67" Riffe Bluewater in...

Re: Time to put in the Time Offshore!

My buddy and I went to our favorite spot the other day and I had 2 yellows in the boat before he had his suit on. I had my limit by 10:30. Some good size to them. There are a ton of fish out...

Re: La Paz story and trip report

That is so cool!!! I immediately told my wife the whole story but she didn’t quite share my stoke. Oh well. It’s a work in progress.

I’ll bet your wife is going to want to go more often after...

Re: Riffe Bluewater shaft setup?

I shot a Riffe Blue Water for years. I would try a 5/16 shat with 4 14mil bands. It will shoot smooth and have plenty of power.

Re: Pull the "Trigger"

That's a nice one. I hear they are good eating but the only one I ever shot I couldn't get a knife into the dang thing. Those fish are armor plated.

Re: Introduction and Baja Report, Part 2

Re: WTB Alexander gun

I had a Riffe Bluewater for years and now have an Alexander 62". It is 5 inches shorter than the Riffe but has only 2 inches less band pull. The big difference is that the gun is so much easier to...

Re: Of Squid and early Catalina Gamefish

That's why I like my little 18 Seacraft. 3 MPG all day on an old smoker. Of course I need to pick my weather windows a lot more carefully than you guys.

Re: Of Squid and early Catalina Gamefish

$700 a month you can buy a lot of gas and stays in some really nice hotels at Catalina.

Sounds like you're in a really nice area now. Congrats on having a nice home in a nice area.
