Good call on the second water source. Do you have to manually close the valve on the thru hull when you flush the motor from the outdrive or is there some sort of check valve? I'm going with MPI...

Good advice, thanks.

I will also be adding a 42 gallon bait tank on the swim step which might help counter the fuel tank moving forwards.

Yeah, aluminum and it looks to be the original tank from 1986.

Paint and re power to start...trying to decide if it's worth the expense of converting to an outboard.

Re: 2nd Gun: Hybrid Reel Mount question

I've heard that putting the tube 3" into the wood is all that is needed. I did 4" on my hybrid build and it seems like it has plenty of strength.
