Re: 4 strokes left running 20 minutes without water

Does the motor record overheat alarms? You could buy the software on Ebay and check yourself. Otherwise I'd say it's fine. People over exaggerate this situation all the time. I doubt you'll even see...

Re: Touch screen with dive gloves?

It's not a problem. The wetter the glove the better and the screen isn't at all like your smart phone that will go haywire when wet.

Had mine for 3 years now. Garmin svx12

Re: Project boats

Obligated,
Taking the thermostats out actually cools the engine. The previous owner must have a impeller problem or some other reason for overheating. Taking thermostats out is a cheap way to cool...

Re: Big gilthead sea breams

I love seeing the boats you guys use. Those RIBS are the perfect dive boat.
But I don't know how you don't pop them all the time??

Re: Imemsa Panga 26 build

Here's my console layout

With the steering wheel offset to the left, a passenger can sit without me hitting their knee turning the wheel or bumping their shoulder while shifting gear. Also allowed...

Re: Imemsa Panga 26 build

Top is 39mph at 5300rpm

Cruise at 26mph which is the hulls most comfortable speed and get 6.5 or 7.2mpg depending on load

Re: Imemsa Panga 26 build

I've been using a large four blade. Really helps swing the bow around in the wind and with docking. The mpg numbers improved alot compared to my previous 3 blade aluminum

Re: Imemsa Panga 26 build

Be careful when trailering. Stuff blows out of them very easily because the deck is so open. I bungee corded the hatches down but I've still almost lost those a couple times.

The only weird part...

Re: Imemsa Panga 26 build

Great boat. What are you using for power?
I have the same one with an f115 and couldn't ask for much more power. I'm looking into a permatrim or trim tabs, the bow is really light and hard to get...

Re: CMOR mapping chips

Pretty sure they're using noaa drawn charts. I can tell because they only sell areas the government already covered. Which is all free if you search the noaa website. So this is sorta not a miracle...

Re: Panga Importers/Builders

Piano or continuous hinge, yes. Trex decking might be overkill and overweight.

It's a panga so I guess anything goes

Re: Panga Importers/Builders

I like that the previous owner cut out the rear seat lips. And made one long bench. The two compartment hatches were too small to sit on and hurt to sit between

Re: Panga Importers/Builders

I wouldn't dismiss the current four blade you have. I bet the cruise speed fuel economy is amazingly good. And likely the reason why the previous owner did that

Re: Panga Importers/Builders

I would keep the four blade. Helps with docking such a long bow-light boat, when it's windy.

Props have bad resale value. I wouldn't experiment too much. Maybe borrow someone's

Re: Panga Importers/Builders

unless you install fishboxes or below deck hatches, theres not a single screw you would use on a panga deck

Re: Panga Importers/Builders

The guys getting them in Mexico aren't doing it for any reason but to make money.

The cheapest one made here is my American panga. It's a offshoot of panga marine. I'll try to find the link but...

Re: Panga Importers/Builders

It's a four day trip to get to the nearest dealer in mx. Makes it a logistical nightmare and a lot of miles on your truck and gas money.

I met the Texan dealer in Tennessee to save shipping...

I was also thinking and radio frequency bag that blocks the keys signal. They have them for your electronic bridge token pass thingy.
