Re: Filipino Old School SpearFishing. ;)

Thanks Larry (and Gil). I can vouch for the info. I was in P.I. in January and did some diving with locals. I'll try to post a story and pic's soon. It's definitely a different set of rules when the...

Re: Setting up a longboard for spearfishing

In regards to the dive flag, you could use a Riffe flag stand and rig a permanent or temporary adhesive to the deck. In regards to the deck plugs, Phil was headed in the right direction, but drilling...

Re: Anyone try this design before...?

A friend of mine made a 65" gun a few years ago with round holes like Phils gun. It's a "magnum" size stock with 4 or 5 bands, and he really likes the way it works for him. No problems.

Re: Thank you, Todd Peterson!

Todd, the work you, the Prodanovich family, Damien, Larry, and so many others put in to this memorial event was truly memorable. This was such an awesome event for the dive community, but perhaps...

Re: Mod to new RA open muzzle

I like the idea. I've been doing the RA suggested way, but not completely satisfied with it. I'll make the same mod to mine. Thanks for the idea.

Re: technisub micromask

I believe I saw one at Aqua Tech on Crosby Street. It was awesome, but for $115, I decided to stick with my old mask a while longer.

Re: will spearfishing get crowded becuase of spearboard?

I have a lot of agreement with Apnea beast. What has ben a great pursuit of watermen/sportsmen who have made a long journey of learning the sport to it now being all packaged up on a website for any...

Re: Max power ideas for a Biller Gun

Sounds like you've already got good info, but just to add a little, a friend of mine is shooting a Biller Limited 60" for WSB and YT. He actually cut a 3rd notch in the shaft and shoots 3- 5/8 bands.

Re: simple recipe for yellowtail filets?

Raw, grilled with italian dressing marinade or Yoshidas teriyaki sauce and pepper, or fried with tempura batter. I can't decide which is my favorite, but all good and simple.

Re: Why do people hate A.B. Biller guns??

All I can figure is that out west here, we're used to heavier guns. The perception is that the plastic muzzle and 2 piece stock are not tough, however, one of the local spearos who owns a shop has...

Re: any fish around San Elijo State Beach?

There's some decent kelp beds right off the beach. If you have a kayak or long board to strap gun to, it's a pretty short paddle.

Re: Fun with plastic... reels

That large one looks like a nice variation on the Potts reel. I'd like to get a better look at the euro reel. As for line for your big reel, 2.5 mm tuna line works great, and is pretty cheap through...

Mack, I used one until I got the Lasik procedure done. I still have the mask. I believe the lenses are both -2 diopter. If that would work for you, send me a PM, and maybe we could work out a deal....

Re: High Mercury Levels Are Found in Tuna Sushi

What would really be interesting is to see the rate of Japanese and Chinese who suffer maladies related to high mercury levels. I believe the Japanese consume 80%+ of all the tuna caught. They would...

I have a 15' Western that is probably newer than that one that I launch at LJ, I've taken to Coronados, and has been 30 miles off shore in Sea of Cortez. The one for sale might be worth at least...
