Re: High Island/Bolivar Area

I think you're going to need a motor on that Kayak. it's very shallow out of that area..you'd have to go 25 miles or more just to get to 50 feet. it's a little better as you go south, but nothing...

Re: Hurricane Gustav

Re: Attention Houston/Galveston Spearos

Seahuntress organized a happy hour a while back; I went, and there were probably 10 - 15 people. It was amazing how diverse the group was. About the only thing anyone had in common was...

Re: Double Rig by the lump

We went by there this past weekend but the day was running late and the vis was bad, so we just kept rolling out to Medusa and then the floaters. It was my first time doing a "dive all day - fish...

Re: Double Rig by the lump

tons of AJ's at 70 feet, big grouper at 120 as well as the 28 pound snapper. Big mangroves, etc. The reason we went there is because we talked to another boat that said the rip was on other side...

Double Rig by the lump

Last time we went out, we dove the double rig by the lump. I think it's WD-143. There were signs posted that you aren't supposed to tie up to it, dive it, or even be underneath it. We dove it...

Re: Tagged Cobia

I can back up what Southern Cross is saying...I've done a lot of trips originating from Baton Rouge, and it's gruelling. Typically we leave BR about 3 am, start fishing at 8 am or later depending on...

Re: O2 on Board, Just in time for Mini-Season

I'm interested in getting an O2 setup for my boat, and did a search and found this thread. A couple years ago, I had heard from another diver that you need some kind of special grease or oil for the...

Re: 100 Ways for a Rig Diver to Die

By "tethered," I was referring to the cutting device. A lot of guys will bring down cable cutters and keep them mounted on their wrist or in a BC pocket. If you need them, chances are that you are...

Re: 100 Ways for a Rig Diver to Die

I think it is probably worthwhile to put this into a list of "rules for rig diving." here are a few that I have learned..feel free to challenge if you disagree.

1. If you rig your gun with SS...

Re: Cypremort Point, LA - Freediving 5/10/08
