Re: Sit-In question

I jump in and out of my 12' sit-inside all the time. It has a sealed rear bulkhead, so it will never totally sink. I also used to paddle a 9-foot sit-inside and it was a piece of cake to jump in...

Re: Want to get into spearing...need advice.

Hello RAR,

I've spearfished in the San Marcos. Went to college there as well. You are right, spearfishing within the City Limits is prohibited by ordinance. Don't waste your time with a gig. ...

Re: Texas Gulf_Spearing from Jet Ski_Help

I bought a Waverunner FX HO. Opinions vary, but it's a big 3-seater with a ton of get up and go. You can run out passed the jetties and play around in 7-foot seas or haul ass up the intercoastal...

Re: Spearfishing in Costa Rica (Tamarindo)?

I dove several of the coves north of Playa Grande in December of '08. I don't remember the name of it, but there is a particular cove with a few rock outcroppings nearshore. (less than 100 yards) ...

Re: What's the best driving route from DFW to Port O'Connor?

I know it's there and at least a good portion of it is open, but haven't used that road yet. I think that toll road is supposed to eventually go all the way up to Waco, but who knows.

Re: What's the best driving route from DFW to Port O'Connor?

Go through Austin and then Victoria to Port O'connor. 183 will get you from Austin to Cuero pretty quickly with a little slow down in Luling and Gonzales. From Cuero, take 87 to Victoria.

It's...

"Hunting The Hard Way" By: Howard Hill

My old archery mentor let me borrow this book sometime around 1990 and I gave it back to him maybe two years after that. What an awesome read. At the time; however, I wasn't into diving or...

Re: Possible Tilapia Tournament

It took me a while to even find the ordinance in municode. No one I called knew anything about it other than it was probably illegal. The city council would have to vote on it. Get in touch with...

Re: Are there patterns to strong currents

The currents can change direction, start up or even ebb at depth. There isn't a manageable way to predict them. Like Fred says, there are a lot of variables.

Out of Sargent

We drove close to 30 miles out and still had green water. It’s early in the season still. These are the biggest mangroves I’ve gotten so far. The biggest one really made me work for it.

The...
