Also bondi is good diving but stay away from the beach as there are people who want to stop spearing in that area. South maroubra & long bsy are nearby and also good diving. Good luck

cheers. in hindsight the best option for me would have been to to drag the thing to my exit point & deal with it on terra firma... whether my gear was up to it would be the issue.

i have only once shot a small whaler - side on gill shot but to my shame didnt really know what to do to finish it off with it thrashing about as i was concerned about losing a hand & it busted off....
