Re: What's the best way to mount a GoPro?

I use the head strap, and secure it to my mask strap using my girlfriends elastic hair tie. I never worry about it falling off. The shaky video is something you have to concentrate on slow head...

Re: 2013 season analysis/winter boredom

I'd say that fish is worth more then that. I saw a fish market on LI selling live triggers and fluke for $17 a pound last year. After filleting thats got to be around $25 a pound.

Not sure of...

Re: Long Island daily vis thread

Haven't speared in a while, but took an RnR trip out of Jones inlet. Fished Cholera banks for seabass, the visibility a few miles off shore was awesome. Released a short fluke an watched it swim...

I had my head strap come off once. Now I secure it to my mask with my girlfriends headband It's elastic and thin so its out of the way.

Re: Upstate New York Newbie

I was at Lake George last year mid august. Didn't bring my dive gear but rented a kayak and paddled around the lake. The water was very clear, probably close to 25 ft viz.

Re: Ideal Pole Spear for Keys Hogfish

I've been using the Ray Odor for a few years taking triggers, black fish and Striped Bass up to 15lbs. It's cheap and breaks down for travel.

Re: GoPro

If you use the head mount, definitely angle it down more then what you think it should be, i missed some good footage as well by not angling it.

Re: gobro

I like the head mount. Use an elastic band, that girls use for their hair to secure it to your mask straps so you dont lose it.

Re: Triggerfish!

Getting Triggers on the Pole Spear is the way to go. To put them on the stringer I go right through the eyes, just be careful when you have a bunch on there cause they'll take a chunk out of your...

Hey Dave how you been? Weekends in June are good for us except Sunday the 16th. We're taking the kayaks out tomorrow, for a test spin. I haven't Kayaked in a couple of years, (since I started...

Re: Hobie mirage drive Kayak?

I have the Outback, very stable, and can hold all your stuff but it's slow. I've had it in an inlet before and it was a struggle going against the current.

Re: Hawaii Trip 4/4-4/12

I was there a couple of years ago diving at Hanauma Bay a few times. It's a preserve so no spearing allowed but it was awesome. Go out past the reef for some deeper water and big schools of fish, ...

Re: Hello! (yes another newb)

I usually attach my floatline directly to my gun. Depending on where I'm diving I sometimes run the line through a quick release attached to my weightbelt. The quick release is a simple zip tie...

Re: Gun for bad Viz (and intro)

I use a Riffe Metal Tech 0S, it's an 81cm mid handle gun. I changed the bands to 3 5/8th" bands so it still has some power to take a decent size bass.
