I did try removing the plastic coating from the cable with a lighter, it didn't melt or make it any easier to remove. It's quite easy with a sharp blade. I had to use smaller crimps once the cable...

Hi Majd, the cable I used is from Catch All Tackle, it is vinyl coated.
I brought the recommended crimps for crimping over the vinyl as Catch All Tackle recommends.
I'm sure it's the same cable as...

The 1.7mm Dyneema is rated at 460kg.
Double crimped 1.7mm Dyneema- Slipped around 120kg
Doubled crimped with Majd loop Knot had no slip at all, Broke around 144kg.

The 1.7mm Dyneema is rated at 460kg and very stiff.
You can see how much the crimps slipped by the black makes I put on the line before the load test.

With a knot instead of a crimp, the knot broke at 132kg, before the crimp the did.

Hi Majd, I was able to find some XPS foam. I will do the test as you recommend. The lightest shaft I have for the test is 9.75mm x 170cm. Should be interesting to see the results.

I probably change my bands before it's really needed. Well before any flaws developed in the bands. I know Mr Alemanni cuts and tyes the bands at a low percentage, so the bands do last a long time on...

Hi Popgun Pete, The booster band is at the top. But there is no need for the boost band when the rubber is new.
The bar on the bottom of the gun does not damage the gun at all.
