Nope. The only thing you can do is to leave. And like you said, when you're in an area they're thick in, every "A" spot will have them. I've run 20 miles to put them in my rearview.....

As far as Shark Shields, my advice would be if it makes a diver more comfortable in the water, then it's a good thing. Every hunter will have to make a personal decision to wear one or not wear one....

That pretty sums up my feelings about shark feeding also. It's never a good idea to teach a top predator to associate humans with food.

Ray Odor

Sorry to say that Ray Odor has passed away. Ray was a legend in the Tampa Bay spearing community and a good friend to many of us.

I saw one of these years ago in a tackle shop up in the Panhandle. The one you found is a match to the one I saw. Pretty sure you're right and it's a sounding/fish locating weight. Nice find!

BTW, if you're unsure about the "crimping if off' operation, next time you have a half tank or so at the house try this. Have your reg set up on a partial tank as normal. Adjust the second stage...

When you're in an emergency out of control ascent due to a malfunctioning power inflator then you do whatever you have to do in order to not make an uncontrolled ascent to the surface.
