Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

Eurogun models which you shoot with one hand, and maybe two if you cup one hand over the other, will always lift unless the gun is heavily ballasted in which case it will not really be a eurogun. ...

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

One way to look at it better would be to make a short video loop of the actual shots from this angle and compare them. I have just done the shot at 2.35 seconds.

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

It is just the gun kicking up with the recoil, the muzzle is going up and the handle is going down, check out the full sequence.

Maximum force is when the sear tooth lets go, the spear tail exits...

Re: Bleutec linerelease

Line runs from shaft tab to nose tab or hook, then over the spear and down to trap it, and then can run back to either side from underneath the muzzle.

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

Ran the video at quarter speed and froze two images before and during the shot. Check the muzzle by flicking between images. Added another image with a second attempt at freezing, note the clock...

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

If you stand a long shaft on its nose vertically and tap it on the side then you see that they can get quite a wobble up, also if you push down hard on the shaft at the tail you can bow it, but much...

Re: Bleutec linerelease

I don't know, but it may have been bent as there is no reason for it to be facing slightly downwards. Take the lever out and use a hammer to flatten it against a solid flat surface like a bench vice...

Re: Bleutec linerelease

You should be able to switch the line release lever to the other side of the mech by taking the pivot screw out and turning the lever over.

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

If the shaft hits where the gun is pointed then does it really matter? I have not slow motioned the video yet, but the gun body outweighs the mass of the bands by a big margin. I am sure that there...

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

Another factor is the short roof on most eurogun trigger mechanisms, if the roof was extended forwards a couple of cm then the spear tail should be better controlled when it comes off the sear...

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

The initial tail lift of the shaft may be due to the use of shaft tabs as the spear is moved by an off-axis force compared to its centerline. One way to check that out would be to use for...

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

A band gun that has the spear propelled from the centerline of the gun is the Nakaoka from Japan. It is basically a variation on the side slotted barrel guns that date back to the earliest spearguns...

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

The main thing is the shaft hits where you expect it to and with enough force to push through the target and either stone it or incapacitate it. Guns have to balance ease of use and be simple to...

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

The gun looks very stable during the shot with no big push back, plus the shaft has little time to drop in its flight to the target which you can easily see in the side on views. Crash through...

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

The Seal 130 cm inverted rollergun has an 8 mm shaft of 155 cm, but I don’t have it yet as the spear had to be shipped separately. It was one of three guns from his estate so to speak. ...

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

3.432 kg is good, you want mass if you are going to shoot heavy shafts which have good hitting power at long range. Seal's 130 (Kosta) weighs 2.5 kg with bands, my Urukay 120 cm weighs 2.57 kg bare.

Re: You had a good run Grandpa.. yur on your own

Many countries ran by authoritarian regimes are keeping numbers a secret, probably to stem any discontent amongst the people that might lead to a revolt against their "leadership".

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

Looks like the 20 mm wrap around bands anchor just rearwards of the muzzle nose, so when cocked they occupy both top and bottom decks at full length. Usually we don't see that anchor position so far...

Re: You had a good run Grandpa.. yur on your own

A time for senior citizens to sacrifice is postulated by a guy who will have access to every medical intervention to save his own life, being a State Lieutenant Governor, says "I am all in"!?
