Re: What's NEW with Rollers?

Hi Pete,

Thanks. I seen all of those. The Carbonia is pretty impressive. But those are all old tests. Compared to how many people are using bigger Rollers these days, you'd think there would be...

What's I'd really like to see are some new Pool Tests. Longer Double Rollers and Inverted shooting 8mtrs+ in a pool. Anyone got some links?

Re: Rollergun Recoil and the Jerk (not the owner!)

Before Seal passed away he had been showing that very high velocities were possible with thinner shafts using Rollerguns. The idea that a Shaft diameter has a terminal velocity may not be correct....

Re: Deep Spearfishing locations

Kodama,

You can shoot fish in shallow, but usually this is smaller reef fish. But for the best Reef fish like Uku (Green Jobfish) and Mu (Big Eyed Bream), usually you need to go down pretty deep...

Re: Lembongan & Uluwatu - BALI

Where you from? Bring something like a 120/130. OR. Get in touch with some of the very skilled builders in Bali ie Andre, Agusto, Malik, and get a custom gun built for a very fair price.

That...

Re: Line release slot

Sorry I misspoke above. What you are looking for is a Long, Single End Mill. These can come in lengths of 2" or more so they will give you plenty of depth. But, I've used these for milling/machining....

Re: Line release slot

If you can use a Reverse mech, the line release area will be much easier. If not, you can look for a Metal Milling Bit with a 1/4" Shank. Go on Enco.com and you'll see all sorts of bits. What you are...

Re: Band width for carbon gun

I never shot that particular gun, but I've played around with different band set ups a bit.

14.5mm small ID is a great balance when it comes to bands. Easy to pull back, you can load at Higher...

Re: Enlarge hole for shooting line in shark fin

Common issue if you plan on using thicker mono, or chafe guard.

First bore out the hole to your required diameter. Wear Glasses. You can use a Drill bit which matches your current hole and give a...

Re: Dogtooth Recipes Anyone?

Dogtooth is actually a Mackeral. It's a white flesh. I bet it would make a real nice Candy.

Cut in thin strips.
Put a few pounds into a bag with 2 cups Brown Sugar, a little salt, some Ketchup,...

Re: Dogtooth Recipes Anyone?

Given the option I would always shoot the smaller one. 30lbs is good eating fish and easier to land and also to carry. Maybe the Veal of Doggies tastes better.

Re: Gun blank Layup

Hello Fat Larry,

Merbau is a good Hard wood. It dents boats. It shoots particularly well. I'm making a new gun model from Merbau now.

The only real issue with Merbau is it's Specific Gravity...

Re: Gun blank Layup

What he said. Kwila is a very Hard wood. So you don't want to use a solid piece. You want to use multiple lams to limit the character of each lam and try to keep the blank overall straight. Kwila is...
