Re: Carbon fiber question

Not sure I understand;-)?
The sleeves come pretty much as long as you want them. They are woven as one long continuous sleeve, though you pay for them per feet/meter.

Re: Carbon fiber question

Don't have much to add other than a thumbs up and a rule of thumb...;-)
First, cudos to Dean for sharing the trick - I think it's something a lot of us have wondered about (and the guns look great)!...

Re: Pneumatic loading help

Hmm, nah. If I was on scuba with the rest of the stuff hanging off of me one more thing might not matter. But freediving - having anything attached to you that you can't remove as easily as a belt is...

Re: Pneumatic loading help

But it doesn't have to be this advanced. As mentioned above, a rope with knots on it should suffice. It has for spearos in the Med for decades.
I will share a handful of pics which are not my own,...

Re: Pneumatic loading help

I am even shorter than the OP and I have used extended loaders quite a bit. They work a charm and I feel longer guns are sometimes easier to load than shorter ones because your "work position" is...

Re: Band choice/stretch for 90cm pipe gun?

If not mistaken, the number I see the most from Majd for Small ID 14-14.5mm is 380%. But i have seen from 360-400%. At 360% you might not get the most out of them and at 400% you might kill them a...

Re: Homemade Hawaiian Sling

Hi Chuuken,
Sorry for digging up this old thread - I was researching slings for a friend.

Just wanted to say thanks so much for a cool read! I love when it's not only about killing fish! I am...

Re: Small ID pole spear band?

As for the hand strap, I totally agree with Polespearo - no need for couplings, just make it as simple as you can. If you do intend to put a shackle or similar in the "power train" then make sure...

Re: Small ID pole spear band?

I have a 13mm single Small ID for my Japanese-inspired DYI polespear. But that may not mean anything as it's my first and only spear...;)
I loose a bit of band length with the hand strap but I think...

Re: Planning New Bluewater Roller Build - 1 or 2 bands?

That makes sense. I had read page after page on the glory of Abellan guns and when I first saw one in real life I was, even though prepared for it, I was slightly underwhelmed. Simply because it...

Re: Planning New Bluewater Roller Build - 1 or 2 bands?

Hate to say it, but if you are to trust Majd's testing, which I personally do, it seems a well designed two-banded classic gun (very high ergo handle, no ET, no band friction, good trigger) running...

Re: DIY inverted polispast conversion questions

I still haven't ventured onto this path myself as my airguns still have untapped potential but I do like to keep tap on what's happening elsewhere.

As for the bearings, I am fairly sure Roisub's...

Re: Railgun, who makes the best?

Interesting points and looking forward to hearing some thoughts.

I do wanna say this in reg. to Scubastore; though I am "guilty" of shopping with them once in a while I try hard to spread the...

Re: Has anyone worked on developing speargun sights?

I guess it is "calibrated" at a given distance where the raised muzzle - from the sight not being at the same height as the muzzle - takes the guess work out of shaft drop? So, if you shoot closer...

Shafts for pneumatic salvimar

Seac should fit, too. But they don't really make great shafts.
But remember these are screw-on tails so for now you still have your original tail-end on your original shaft. You can move that over...

Re: Shafts for pneumatic salvimar

Yep, Jersymudsniper got it all right (except I don't yet consider myself a true pro;-)).

I think the difference is that Breezy got the older Vuoto Air and not the Predathor. Nothing wrong with...

Re: Shafts for pneumatic salvimar

I think you may have a parts diagram in your manual?
You'd have to depressurize the gun to change this part but it's not a biggie.

Re: Shafts for pneumatic salvimar

You need a different shock absorber for 8mm shafts - and a bigger tail end. The bigger tail end is the reason you need a new shock absorber as the bore on the original one is not big enough to let...

Shafts for pneumatic salvimar

One other option, if you have access to a lathe, is to take any shark fin/notched shaft you fancy and cut it down for your use. Just make sure the donor shaft is long enough to start with.

Then...

I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to band guns at all, but I do read a lot here;-).
So, I am basically just passing on other people's findings and preferences and that said, perhaps a...

Re: Salvimar Hero

As for the plastic that mirrors my own observation with the handle and muzzle on their Predathor air gun. I speculate the might use a plastic with a lot of fiber mixed in. It certainly feels strong...

Re: Farewell Spearboard Friends

Same old story with this place. And honestly the behind the scenes bullying - as well as the off-topic-BS in many threads - is one of the reasons it took me forever to sign up. Funnily enough the...
