Re: Visiting from NorCal for 4th July

No wetsuit needed. Vis on a good day will be 10ft or so. Fish are 2-6lbs on average and dumb on the wrecks you can swim/paddle to. Expect a crowd and don't harvest more than u need

Re: New spearo, Salvimar Predathor Vuoto

You may want to consider putting a muzzle bungee on your shooting line. You will get used to loading it with practice in the water. Make sure to always keep the spear clear of your head/neck while...

Re: Going beach camping, how can I prevent spear rust?

I would promptly abort this camping trip. It's not worth getting rust on your spear shaft.

Re: Scoping NC

I grew up on Hatteras Island, have lived in Manteo, and currently live in Nags Head. The Nags Head area would be my top choice for living on the Outer Banks. Some decent shore diving, fishing, and...

Re: fin issues, any ideas

I've heard the sizing on the gara professional fins is off. Make sure they fit snug or you will still get those chewed up feet. I wear a size 12 shoe and the cress 10-11 fit perfectly barefoot....

If you're ever in the Outer Banks area look up Vicarious Charters. I'm sure they will be going out as soon as things warm up. Welcome to NC!

Re: Foot pocket suggestions.

My joke was intended as a suggestion that you may be over-thinking the whole fin thing. Sorry man. I've tried a few of the pockets that you have mentioned with different blades throughout the years...

Re: Which fins?...

Cressi gara 2000 or 3000. If you get leaderfins, don't get the softs. They feel like wet noodles. Fiberglass and carbon fins are way over rated IMO. Save your money for a trip or a kayak if u...

Re: Beer Batter fish and chips

Sounds super good man. Everyone loves fried fish! I just posted a fried fish recipe from the Southern US. I'm gonna try your recipe next fish I get. I haven't done beer batter in a long time.

Re: Railgun, who makes the best?

55cm Beuchat Espadon. I stoned a 250lb Mola Mola from 2ft away. Sushi rolls for days. Also shot a cockroach with it in my house. Chopped it clean in half. Can't argue with real world results.

It''s the indian, not the arrow. Put some more time in and you'll get it. Being properly weighted and moving very slow will help you the most. Fish know when you are hunting them. Get a yellow...

Re: Masks leak under nose

Get a new mask. Your mask should not be leaking if you don't have a mustache. Don't be fixed on getting a tiny freedive mask. Most scuba masks are more forgiving with fit and have a much greater...
