Re: Another noobie looking for mentor

With that kind of offer I'd be there with breakfast and lunch on top of beer, gas, and snacks. Isn't that protocol?

Re: Open Cell Suit Replacement Question

F-ing dying over here. That is the funniest shit (pun intended) I've heard. You're a trooper for sharing with the class. I probably would have looked at that as a $200-400 shit. I don't think I could...

Re: Proper Band Size

I would use 9/16" (14mm) small id rubber. For the length of the bands, below is a copy and paste from one of my previous posts on how to determine band length. It's an equation I've created for...

Re: Knots for Dyneema

Unfortunately for you it is produced by Aussie USA, I believe. May be why you can't find it. Although you'd think Aussie, being the parent company, would carry it.

Re: Knots for Dyneema

I have experimented with a variety of knots to find the strongest with lowest profile. Nothing beats the figure 8, mentioned above. You can, however, crimp dyneema, if done properly for an even lower...

Re: VIDEO - California hunting at 140'

Your diving amazes me. Do you always dive without a snorkel? Does it have to do with drag?

Re: WSB Picture Thread

I haven't been back to that spot since seeing you there. Need to give that one another shot. Thanks for the pointer. You're in SD now, right? Whenever you come up here and would like someone to dive...

Re: Global Fishing Fleets Waste Ten Percent of Catch

I'm guessing this reply was made simply off the title of the article. If you actually read the article it touches on bycatch, and not in the sense that bycatch is the reason for the majority of the...

Re: Neptonics: Ventura Opening Party July 8th!

Your Long Beach store is walking distance from my house and yet I still feel compelled to check this out.

Re: Weedtrimmer line for Mono?

I have not had the same idea... until now. Be interested to see the breaking strength. My guess would be quite low, however. Granted, the trimmer is spinning at high speed when it breaks off, but...

Re: Vegetable Glycerin as Suit Lube?

I have not used it, but it is safe for consumption and skin contact. In fact, it is good for your skin. The concern, however, would be how it would react, if at all, with the rubber. My guess would...

Re: First gun build, thoughts and pics

I will add that while I am using the lower grit between coats I am not using the same amount of pressure I would typically use when sanding. I lightly sand at that point.

Re: First gun build, thoughts and pics

If you have an air compressor use that to clean off your stock in between coats. That way you don't leave anything behind from any rag you may use. It is a clean effective way to clean off the stock....

Re: Gun and suit question for SoCal spearing

For the float/floatline. Not a bad choice. What I use is a 75-100' floatline shackled with a 10' bungee with a 15l float. Bungee connected at the end closer to the gun, not the float. Since you are...

Re: Lesson learned.

Dano and Paul bring up great points. Just to expand a tiny bit. A lot of licensing agreements require a manufacturer to provide the licensor with a final product from the line, as Dano mentioned. So,...

Re: How often do you carry a knife while spearfishing?

I'm guessing this is stemming from some other thread. I thought Artiz was being informative. I didn't even see him mention you here.

Back to the thread at hand... I always carry at least one...

Re: AB Biller Service A++++

It's funny. You hear so many stories of some companies that ship out an item that turns out to be broken, defective, etc. (likely prior to shipment), and the company tells their customer "too bad...
