Diving with a Mako

I've tried a lot of spearguns and liked most all of them for different reasons. I've used JBLs, Mares pneumatics, AB Billers, a really pretty Koah, but I keep coming back to my Makos, and I have...

Navionics MMC card for Lowrance WTB

I have an older model Lowrance that only takes MMC/SD cards of 1gb or less. I'm having trouble finding a chart card for my unit. If you have one laying around I would like to buy or trade for it.

Re: Conditions

Hey Dago, about that avatar, that is a nice looking cuda skull. I boiled one up a few weeks ago and videoed when I dis-articulated it. No help there, I have no idea how to put it back together. ...

Re: First attempt at "editiing"

Good job on wiping out those pesky AJ's. Ya'll probably killed 5 or 6 didn't you? Looks like your dive buddies don't need any fins, just a good pair of boots for bottom walking.

Re: Close call with a SHARK!!!

Good Video. If I had been with you your ears would have been ringing a little bit and you wouldn't have so much footage of the grey suit. Good on your dive buddies for the work they did.

Re: Water Vis

Out yesterday on Wreckreation. We dove the Tarpon and worked some reefs out to the Commander. 20' Vis was much better than what I expected to see. We found a few bugs and some nice Red Grouper...

Re: Video from this past weekend.

I feel your pain. I have learned so many lessons from those damn Cobes I could write a book on it. The last one I got, I put it on the stringer, removed my shaft, it popped the diaper pin open and...

Re: Anyone going out tomorrow (7/26)

I'm driving Wreckreation tomorrow, Divers Den Beach dive boat. I'll take you to the shark spans if that would help. It can be good fishing there, even though most are out of season. Maybe a nice...

Sunday dive PC1

Just a quick report on conditions here in PC. I've been looking and haven't seen a report lately. #1, the water is cold at 53. #2, the water is dirty, but workable at maybe 15' vis. We took...

Re: 25 C-Hawk - REDUCED !

I have this same boat with a Suzuki 250 4 stroke. It is a great dive platform. I have read a lot of forums about how this hull is a kidney buster but I haven't found that to be true if you load the...

Re: Taking the Plunge

Reefs/hardbottom: freeshaft. Wrecks: lineshaft. For me, when in doubt, lineshaft. I've done it all for the past 20yrs.

Re: PC Dive Rpt 1_6_10

The little heater in the pilot house keeps things toasty between dives and a lot of rubber makes the water tolerable.

Flounder limit is 10 each and the photographer/bubble watcher accounted for...

PC Dive Rpt 1_6_10

The Canadian likes it cold. PK and I went out again today, and as you might have guessed it hasn't warmed up any. Water temp is 53 top to bottom but the vis is quite good at 40' or so. We did find...

Re: Dive Report 1-3-10

We went to T-12 yesterday. Vis was pretty good, 20 or better but the few fish that were hanging around had their earmuffs on and there were no flounder, it was 53. We beat our way back across to...

Re: Ideal gun!!??

I like your concept but in my experience I think you are going down the wrong path on the shaft. You are going to need mass to get good penetration and distance. I know the V-square formula, but...
