Re: Practical Navigation Solution for Small Boats: Navionics and iPad?

The compass is a must. Most of my life has been dedicated to racing sailboats so that is a no brainer. Carrying a chart is an option, however, a bit tough in a kayak. On our rocky shoreline, it is...

Practical Navigation Solution for Small Boats: Navionics and iPad?

I will admit to using google maps as a navigation tool in my kayak when I was caught offshore and the fog came in before I could paddle back to shore. While that worked in a save-my-ass-moment, that...

Re: Size 13EE foot, Pathos vs. Omer Pockets

I recently dipped a Rob Allen belt, in a bowl in which I poured boiling water. I was able to get rid of the memory from the belt. The Rob Allen belt is 3-4 mm thick and was easy to reshape. I...

Size 13EE foot, Pathos vs. Omer Pockets

This is for the size 12-13 EE foot crowd.

I recently received a pair of Pathos 48-50 pockets and had a set of Omer 47-48 pair of pockets and I will compare and contrast the two. I tried on both...

Re: Netarts and seals

If you are kayak fishing, sea lions are like sharks. It's a race to get the fish in before the sea lion takes it. If they see you catching fish, it attracts all kinds of attention. If you crab,...

Re: Spearfishing After Shoulder Replacement

I had a hip replaced two weeks ago on a Monday, was walking the next day and went driving on the 3rd. After one week I was back to work and off the crutches. I am almost to the end of week 2 and...

Re: Special thanks to Majdq8 for his contribution in 2017

Majdq8 did compare mono, spectra and 1.4mm covered stainless braid in a video. That was informational. I ended up going to stainless braid after that and I could not be happier.

Re: Rob Allen / Rail Gun Shooting Technique Question

I could not hit anything with my Rob Allen guns. I put in a Meandros trigger mechanism, and that cleared up the line of site along the shaft. I also went to 14 mm small ID bands stretched to 360%. ...

Re: Oregon Hole gun

Looks perfect. I have often thought the Koah would be great but it has an enclosed track. The Riffe metal tech makes a small mid handle, however, I think wood guns have soul. I hate the giant...

Re: Little Boat

I have a Stabicraft 1410 Explorer. Just check out the video from Stabicraft. I use a 2 stroke 25 hp Yamaha. This is perfect for 2 spearos. If you plan on filling it with more than 800 lbs, go...

Re: pregnant lingcod

I may become hugely unpopular in the state of OR, as I am thinking about taking up this fight. Thank you for another nudge in the right direction.

Re: Coating a speargun handle

3M 5200 comes in a Fast Cure and in a Slow Cure. I always use the Fast cure on marine projects to avoid slip.

Re: Special thanks to Majdq8 for his contribution in 2017

My big take-aways are:

1. 1.4 mm coated stainless is a superior shooting line (over mono and spectra) for my use.
2. Exceeding terminal velocity costs fish. Switching to small id 14 mm (vs...

Special thanks to Majdq8 for his contribution in 2017

As I sit here, cutting new 14mm, primeline, bands (at 360%!) for yet another gun, I want to acknowledge the huge contribution from Majdq8 this past year and all previous. I find that when I don't...

Re: Amazon "deals" for wetsuit

I once found a glitch on Levi 501's in my size for $20. I ended up buying 4 pair at that price. I kept going back to the original link and buying. Eventually they figured it out. I don't have too...

Re: quick review: omer umberto pellizari up-m1 mask

I also have the Omer UP-M1 mask. Are the lenses bifocals or is the entire lense magnified? Also, is the number associated with each lense the magnification rating?

Thank you

Re: 1996 Nautica 18' RIB Deluxe for sale

On your death bed you will remember the time on that boat, with those kids and you won't give a damn about space in the garage. And, when you find out a boat is cheaper than therapy, and you go to...
