You can definitely get by with a 5mm but 7 is best for a dedicated, year round Washington suit. If you run hot you can even get by with less, but just know you won't last very long.

Soup. After cooking I pick out the big parts, strain and then add some salt. Use it just like chicken broth in soup recipes. There is some rich, fishy goodness in there. Recovered meat gets thrown...

Whenever possible, I've recently been really in to preparing whole fish or making stock and defleshing from carcasses. Pretty amazing how much more efficient this is, especially for our rockfish.

I have done this type of trip several times. Wipe with a dry cloth, let dry a bit, and then wipe with cloth or paper towel with canola oil.

I am not a fan of putting any kind of solvent like wd40...

I'm not majd, but i'll give some input on shorter guns.

Stock gun was 80cm mako with 6.5mm shaft and 300# mono.

I changed to a 10cm shorter shaft at 7mm and 200# mono. I tried 2 x 14.5 small...
