Re: Project Boat Discussion: Tips, Ideas, Mistakes...

Good tip, Kevin. I will keep that in mind if my hull does the same.

Re: Project Boat Discussion: Tips, Ideas, Mistakes...

Re: Project Boat Discussion: Tips, Ideas, Mistakes...

I may have mentioned it, but we're raising the deck on the B25 by 3 inches. This should guarantee a self bailing boat regardless of weight sitting aft, yet still be plenty safe. The hull will have...

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Man, glad your brother survived. A free ascent from 70 ft could have easily bent him or worse given him an embolism.

Hearing that report, among many others, and knowing too many divers feed sharks...

Re: Project Boat Discussion: Tips, Ideas, Mistakes...

There's definitely days, maybe a couple dozen per year, where it's just plain flat as glass on the Gulf. I don't have a lot to add, other than pick your days like Marcus said. I probably wouldn't...

Re: Project Boat Discussion: Tips, Ideas, Mistakes...

Nope, this boat will be built Gulf coast tough. I expect...

Re: Project Boat Discussion: Tips, Ideas, Mistakes...

Yes, I think it will work pretty good. I should be able to keep some bigger baits alive if trolling pelagics on the other coast. Definitely big enough to hold some gear. Wetsuits, etc. We'll see how...

Re: Project Boat Discussion: Tips, Ideas, Mistakes...

I thought I'd give an update here before the long weekend. I decided against laminating the livewell. Overkill and adds more weight. I did however, have a roll of duct foil that's been hanging around...

Re: Anybody been to the MG recently?

That Carter bag sounds nice, still pretty pricey though, especially if you're going to buy several. The Hog ones are built the same way for half the price.

Re: Anybody been to the MG recently?

I carry a 4' and 8' SMB. I've thought about sending my fish up with the 4 footer.

I don't know much about Carter bags, but Piranaha Dive MFG over in Lakeland sells 36" bags for around $25....
