Re: Our friend has passed. Kostadin SEAL

I am just reading this news and can't help but feel a great sense of loss for our community. My heart goes out to his family.

Re: Makenzy ...a Monobloc production.

Ha, I do have something of a production line going. I really appreciate the kind words, and I sent you a PM, but sadly I don't have any plans to sell any guns at the moment : /

Re: Makenzy ...a Monobloc production.

Fear not. I’m using it in a couple others that I haven’t had a chance to post up. I think I personally prefer the neptonics reverse still, but only because I’m so comfortable with it. I think the...

Re: Makenzy ...a Monobloc production.

Thanks Jon! Aways an honor to get your feedback. This particular board was really something special. So special, in fact, that I named the gun after the young lady who helped me find it :toast:

Makenzy ...a Monobloc production.

This is a gun that has been killing fish for about 8 months now, but I just got around to taking some pictures today.

Re: Fishing for grouper at night?

vis was spectacular in my favorite bay spots over the past 2 weeks, everywhere top to bottom 10-15 feet. I think that run is coming to an end. I’ve seen more gags than I’ve seen in a long time around...

Re: Classic power-twin brothers for fellow friends

Amazing. Higher handle than any production gun out there.

Re: The Lost Boys... another Monobloc production

I'm sorry it took so long, it's not that I don't want to, I just rarely have a chance to sit down at my home computer.

Re: The Lost Boys... another Monobloc production

Yeah I could make a jig easy enough. My other concern is that there’s only 1 potential pin hole I see. The mech doesn’t have a flat bottom like a normal mech (another design headache), so I’m not...

Re: The Lost Boys... another Monobloc production

Hmmm. This isn’t the worst idea I’ve heard. How would I align the pin perfectly? ...probably have to make a template.

I think you’ll enjoy the way I made it work. I just did not enjoy the process...

Re: The Lost Boys... another Monobloc production

...it also depends on how you use the mech too. I suspect most will just stick it on top of the gun like the abellan. I’m actually sinking it into the handle so that I can align the handle and shaft....

Re: The Lost Boys... another Monobloc production

I don’t so much mind the wings, it’s the tail that really really ruins things. Also, it has 3 different points that you have to level perfectly (the tail height, the bottom of the mech, and the wing...

Re: The Lost Boys... another Monobloc production

Sort of... but not really. I’ll explain what I mean at some point. The abellan handle is not what I’d really consider a high handle anymore. It looks nice but the mechs sits up real high and the...

Re: The Lost Boys... another Monobloc production

I’ll post One first chance I get.

The double roller trigger is a freaking disaster of a design for trying to get a truly high handle. I got one on par with what I can quickly do with the...

Re: Cracks in stock

....yeaaahhh that's not gonna do it.

I would be wary of that blank, probably has a lot of movement left in it.

Re: Cracks in stock

The cracks happen on the end of the padauk boards during the drying process. Guessing those boards are probably not fully dry yet. When they are stable, you can cut the checked ends off. I notice...

Re: Thoughts on Abellan Albacore 130 vs Bleutec Oceanborn 125 & King Cobra

No.

The metal wishbones do improve the sight picture. Any reasonable gun can be set up with the bands "parallel" to the shaft. It's a function of how the gun is rigged, not the gun itself.

Re: My gun developed a warp. Any ideas?

Probably easier to straighten the track than the stock.

...what you are describing above is basically how a guitar neck works. I just don't think it would be very practical in a speargun.

Re: SPYDERCO Fish Hunter Knife

I mount mine upside down.
The steel is indeed amazing. The biggest advantage over a regular dive knife is the edge is a "real" edge. I run it through an accusharp every once in a while and it stays...

Re: SPYDERCO Fish Hunter Knife

I use one of their H1 knives, and after a year I can vouch that it will literally never rust. I was skeptical so I leave it in the sheath and have never rinsed it even once. It does not rust.
