Re: Citizen scientists needed for FWC barotrauma tool study

Re: Cobia regulation

You are correct. According to an email notice from the FWC, 38 inches to the inside of the fork will be the new game. I'm not sure as to the date that it becomes law. I've deleted the email.

Re: Animal abuse or not?

According to how I understand it, they need to have an HMS permit and a shark permit to harvest sharks on the recreational level in federal waters. If they are are in violation, that will be the...

Re: Citizen scientists needed for FWC barotrauma tool study

Got my release tool today from FWC. It appears to be well thought out and of good construction. I will keep posting the results of its use and draw backs.

Re: Don't be that guy. Dive etiquette

Ah, for the good ole days.
I was anchored up on a spot out of Cedar Key and had divers in the water. Several boats came up but kept the legal distance away. We were at the end of our dive, dropped...

Re: Question for charter captains regarding licensure

You WILL need a Reef permit to take fish using any method, spear or pole. Permits, since the moratorium, have been selling for over6000.00 dollars if you can find them. A sting operation out in the...

Re: Where are the red grouper

Few small ones on my special reef, got more ARS on hooks than red grouper. Like Moose mentioned, the red tide did a lot of damage here, dead fish floating everywhere. It will take a while for the...
