Re: I Touched the Pickled Pelican

There are sometimes certain individual (porgie) fish that have a stink of iodine. I forgot that. It is quite a strong odor. If they smell like that when cleaning them, I just toss them. Maybe...

Re: I Touched the Pickled Pelican

Great report. Does anyone know how many spearboard-dweeb attacks Iíve endured for shooting a few porgies?

Re: Video of our trips out for ARS and gags

The springs no longer discharge freshwater because we take too much freshwater before it can flow all the way offshore. That looks like a cool spot to explore. I would bring a good

Re: Jewfish. April 2018

I think the idea they are putting forth is that they do not typically prey upon the species we normally target, but there ain’t nobody dumb enough to say they don’t opportunistically target hooked or...

Re: Float Stackup

Thanks, you might want to replot it with a max depth of 200 feet or something seems reasonable and also include grid lines. And a 100 feet of negative depth can also be pulled to make it easier to...

Re: Float Stackup

I looked at a website and it says the riffes 3 atm float has a maximum pressure of 25 psi.

So that means at a depth of around 56 feet it will be soft and will begin to compress and loose lift. ...

Re: WTF is wrong with gun manufacturers???

I agree that there can be a lot of variability in user preference, and also different applications. I personally would prefer to have bands that are relatively easy to pull back.
People can’t...

Re: So, question on spearing undersized or out-of-season fish

I spoke with FWC enforcement staff and they confirmed that shooting two gags was not legal, but he said he would not charge me with anything. I laughed really hard on that one.

On Sunday I...

Re: Misc items

Call up MAKO ... they should sell a single fin (and or pocket) so you can get a matching pair of carbon leaderfins

Re: So, question on spearing undersized or out-of-season fish

I think it has to do with the definition of "take".

A hook and line fisherman (typically) has an opportunity to release an unwanted or "illegal" fish. If he attempts to return the fish to the...

Re: Railgun choices

I’m a big fan of MAKO. You can’t go wrong with a basic 90 cm predator with a single wrap of line and two bands for your application.

Only load one band for shooting in holes. Super tough...
