I do not understand how NJ can be out of compliance. Federal regulations only apply at the 3 mile line. Florida repeatedly alters federal regulations, specifically with the Hogfish legislation.

I want to clarify I was slightly north of Fort Lauderdale. It's no secret the population is a little better in the Keys. With that said, the fish stock should be infinitely better on the East Coast...

A friend dove the area around Casino Pier last week. I saw the footage he shot with his GoPro. The debris was very isolated and scattered along the sand bottom. Nothing that would hold fish.

Where did you see that it is shut down? The FWC web site still does not list a date on when they are going to implement the open/closed season.
