You might try a rental place to try one out.The ATX line was built for the rental market(abuse)because of storage and no hard surfaces.
I have several type paddleboards.I usually recommend people try different boards before dropping a grand or more on a board so I know they are happy with their purchase.
OUR PAC model is well built and packs well but the other boards are much faster on the water.Everything has a trade off.Either in speed,tracking,stability,weight capacity or being able to cut waves if you get some good surf.
