Re: The Jack Prodanovich White Seabass Open 2013

Am I correct in assuming that entrants don't have to weigh in at a central spot, but can just send a photo?

Should fish be weighted gutted or whole?

What about second shots, help from buddies, etc?

This is great! I am glad to see you guys reviving the meet and keeping it going! I will bring a case of beer down to the shop for the organizers.

Let me know if I can help in any way. Very excited about the meet!

We are going to have official weigh in stations up and down the coast. We will be securing most of these places hopefully by the end of next week.

It is up to you if you want to weight it gutted or whole. But the winner would be the heaviest fish (gutted or whole).

No second shots from other divers.

We posted up most of the info we have available as of now on our calendar

we will also have a tourny website going up by Monday with all of the info and forms at www.thejack2013.com

for those instant gratification types, here is the info we have on our calendar:

It has been 5 years since we held the first Jack Prodanovich White Seabass Open, so we thought it was about time to hold it again in 2013. “The Jack” Open is to commemorate the legendary spearfisherman Jack Prodanovich. Jack was one of the founding members of the “Bottom Scratchers” dive club. Formed in 1933 it is considered the first and oldest diving club in the world. We honor this pioneer and hope you will join us.

- A Three day event, May 24-27th beginning at dawn on the 24th and ending at 5p.m. on the 26th.
- Awards ceremony on Memorial Day, May 27th at noon at James and Joseph.
- White Seabass (Atractosion Nobilis) only
- A Single speared fish may be entered by the end of the three days by each participant.
- Fish may be taken in lawful areas between Point Conception to the Coronado Islands, Mexico.
- Each participant must possess a valid fishing license and must be in accordance with all State and Mexican regulations.
- All fees and waivers to be received by May 20, 2013.
-Entrance fee includes t-shirt, food and refreshments.
- A portion of the proceeds from this event to be donated to the Rogue Corps
- A raffle will be held at the get together on May 27th.

Please click on the following link and print out the waiver/sign up sheet and send it along with a check for $30 to:

James & Joseph

2040 Harbor Island Dr. #100

San Diego, CA 92101

If you have any questions on this please feel free to email me @ damien@jamesandjoseph.net

Re: The Jack Prodanovich White Seabass Open 2013

I hope I can participate in this event. Will there be a weigh in station on Catalina, or near San Pedro/long beach?

We will have a weigh in station in Catalina and long beach areas. We should have a list of them on our site by the beginning of next week.

By the way the site is up right now www.thejack2013.com

It is a work in progress, but most of the important stuff is up now. The sponsor page will start filling up the next couple of days.

A big thank you to Amadeo for helping out with the T-shirt art for the event!

Stay tuned next week as we start posting up some of the awesome raffle prizes.

Count me in for the cause, although the seabass over here are dinner plate size.
I'll be sending a package with something for the raffle!
