Southern Oregon Mini-Meet-up. Sept 20-24.

Southern Oregon Mini-Meet-up.
Sept 20-24.
Sunset Bay-Cape Arago-Simpson Reef-Coos Bay. William Parsons, a local spearo has offered to help with local knowledge and fish fry/crab cook gear. I'l have my trailer there with my (non-spearo) wife at the very nice Sunset Bay State Campground space A29. Don't expect a lot of organization. Several nearby RV sites/campgrounds. This is an extraordinarily beautiful piece of coastline with sheltered spots. Good kayaking. Rumors of abs. Definitely scallops. There's even a novel fish species not found in N. Oregon, Monkeyface Pricklebacks, which have become a delicacy in high-end San Fran restaurants. Even a few Stripers seen in the Bay. (Port Orford is ~1 hr south) Would be fun to meet more S. Oregon spearos.

Re: Southern Oregon Mini-Meet-up. Sept 20-24.

Oceanside RV park is close by and has some nice cabins and huge tents that may be available. If we get enough people, and if we don't, I will buy a pony keg from the local 7 Devils brewery. I can also bring in a good sized BBQ. As September is a crabbing month, it would be fun to have a crab boil by the water.
