Fish goo
Question
I shot some grouper saturday, cooked it Monday, and ate it Monday, yesterday, and today. It tasted just fine. I did notice however a clear goo-like film on the grouper today that grossed me out. I could not finish the fillet. I've seen similar goo come out of refrigerated mackerel as well. What is it and how do I make it go away. HELP. |

Re: Fish goo
Eyep. Heat it up, it melts into liquid. Do the goo!

Re: Fish goo
Normal, lift it off if it concerns you. Zero issue concern. Disappears when reheated. Congealed grease from olive oil or whatever fat you used when you initially prepared it.

Re: Fish goo
You could use it as an eyeball chaser. Do the goo!
