It was sold to Jerry Hershey a Santa Barbara diver and owner of a abalone processing plant. Then it was owned by Rudy Mangue, Dennis Phillips and lastly Steven Gale from Montara CA.. Thanks,
Quite a piece of history you own there. any chance you have some pics to post? what's your plans for the boat?

Re: California Dive Boats -- the legend of Radon (pictures)

RE : 1970 Radon
I found out about the Easy Moneys history from some divers in Santa Barbara. I read the books they said to read and after reading about the owners of the boat I decided to donate it to the Maritime Musium in SB. But in order to donate it they wanted an endowment to as the Director said :Maintain it in perpetuity"
After that I decided to go ahead and fix it up for my family. I want to add a radar and some details that have been changed to return it to how it would have been in 1970.. It has a Mercruiser 270...Thats a 350 V8 for anyone not familiar with Mercruisers. It also has a Mercruiser number III outdrive.. I have another 125 gal aluminum tank that will need to be stuffed under the deck and It has been totally derigged so after refinishing the hull and decks I want to add pilothouse roof...Here's a couple of pictures.

Haha! You got Pete's boat up there. His boat was a little bit of inspiration for mine.

That blue 26' Anderson is one of my favorites I have ever seen. I used to drool over it at the harbor. Not a fan of the new paint job it got, but still an amazing boat.

Re: California Dive Boats -- the legend of Radon (pictures)

Yeah, it is a crackup how much of a 'family' there is that surrounds these boats, sport or commercial? Everybody knows everybody...boats get sold....re-done....emerge again and the cycle starts fresh. Stoked that lots of you guys are recognizing past boats, friend's boats, family boats. All great stuff.

On the trips to NorCal, some of those boats have been worked so HARD, but they're still kicking...? Amazing testament really to the design and original build quality. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from what a lot of guys think of when they think of boats...

Alright, pic dump time

That last one is the Triton and its hands down the most badass boat in town. 36'x12' Wilson extended to 39' it has twin 490 hp cummins turbos with v drives. Almost 1,000 hp! Gets to Nicolas in no time ha ha

Hi Nate,
I like your panga. I have one also and have been planning to put a pilot house on it to keep Scotty Wotty dry on the ride home. How much weight do you think the pilot house you put up adds to the boat. What thickness ply and how much glass did you use? I would also really like to hear if it affects the performance.

that 2nd picture with you sanding is classic. says it all to anyone that has ever worked with fiberglass.

I had the bare hull (hull, deck, center console and fuel tank), built in ensenada 2007. My buddy Scott was good enough to help setting it up...could not have done it without him.

This Boat is out out of CH right?

great looking boat, with a variety of commercial and recreational options. I am pretty sure this is the boat that cleaned up the toilet reef in malibu. I am sure he got paid handsomely but it was no cool.
