Re: Trigger Fish Closed (GOM)
Just more push back by NOAA against the states sick of the mismanagement of red snapper. If they wanted to increase triggers they need to do something about overpopulation of red snapper in upper gulf. On areas of live bottom like most of Florida gulf coast maybe a different story but central and western gulf with abundance of man made structure holding fish the whole management plan is ridiculous. It was obvious to me 10 years ago triggers were in trouble but they are hard to see for the vast schools of 12 to 25lb snapper.

Re: Trigger Fish Closed (GOM)
I've been diving for 2.5 years, spearing the entire time. Never seen a trigger larger than 12-13 inches, so wondered if it was just where I was diving. Yesterday I saw a HUGE triggerfish - must have been 18-19 inches. Of course, I couldn't shoot it - it just kept swimming around me the whole time, with some HUGE gag grouper as well, just taunting me
