East Coast Canada Road trip...spearfishing, New brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia

Hi Everyone,
I searched and found some old posts, but not many. I'm headed out east from Ontario for a few weeks, roadtripping with my gf. bringing my spearing stuff and hoping to jump in and spear along the way.

Any tips, places etc. would be great, I'll be shore diving, bringing two smaller spear guns, a 95 cm and 75 cm backup. anyone in these provinces who maybe wants to go out for a dive send me a message.

I've quick looked at fisheries websites, but let me know if anything has changed and I should be getting a license for saltwater. also wondering about any prohibited species? and would local shops have size limit/restrictions and catch limits ?

Thanks

Jason

Jason, you are going to Prince Edward Island and taking a 95cm gun?
This trip probably won't be a once in a life time trip, (because it should be Epic! And you will go again)

Not sure about New brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia but Quebec is pretty easy. You just need a permit that you can purchase in any Fishing store or at Canadian Tire(22$). There is about 4 species that you can't hunt Sturgeon, Musky, Salmon and lake trout. The rest is ok. You'll find some big fish in the St Laurence river. Walleye(the best to eat) is limited between 37cm and 53 cm.

If you do dive in the St Laurence, be careful. Lots of current and visibility can be bad, It's an adventure !

5mm wetsuit BTW !
