Prototype anchor rope storage system and buoy
Here are pictures of a combination anchor rope storage system and buoy I put together using a foot long boat fender, some 5/8" outside diameter PVC tubing and "T" joints, the wheels from two hardware store casters, and some carriage bolts, lock nuts, and nylon spacers. I think this system will let me place and pull in my anchor quickly without handling the rope very much. If I need to detach my kayak from the anchor, the fender will keep the rope floating so I can recover the anchor later. If I tie the rope running to the anchor around one of the handles, as shown in the first picture, the rope won't unwind off the fender if I detach my kayak from the anchor. The rope will often mostly cover the fender, so if my anchor rope was more brightly colored, the system would be more visible.

Very cool idea! I was thinking the same thing you could add two more T and use a pool noodle to reduce the size.
