Re: Dream boat
I was thinking a modest 86 footer that can supposedly cruise at 40 kts. WOT at 50 kts...
http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-...unleashed.html Actual dream boat would be something like a 36' yellowfin or similar. Realistically I'd be stoked with a 18' whaler |

Re: Dream boat
A bit slower.. but a classic Phinisi like this one @1OOft is a nice way to Island Hop. I worked on this boat for a while. Here, it's pictured in a small bay at Rinca Island. One of the few places in the world where a diver runs the risk of being eaten by Komodo Dragons. Beautiful diving though.

Re: Dream boat
A group of Scuba Divers got lost from their boat during a drift dive near here last year. They managed to have the bad luck of swimming several miles to the nearest land to find themselves on this island for two nights.. before they were rescued. Hardly paradise for them, fending off Lethal dragon bites.. All ended well though. reat diving around the area, in Komodo National Park. Not really supposed to shoot anything but a camera though.

Re: Dream boat
Windward Passage. One of the more celebrated west coast sleds. Still sexy after all these years.
O.k., a crappy dive boat, but what the hell. |

Re: Dream boat
Does it come with a warning sign that says:
'only intended for bay or cocktail cruising' |

Re: Dream boat
For the OP. Glasstream has a new center console cat almost finished. I know it has been water tested before it got some custom paint. As I drive by, it looks to be around 36' in length but doesn't have real high sides. It appears to be built similar in size to the one you posted.
I owned one of the first 27' step hull models back in 00'. I had it kinda under powered with only a single 250 Merc, but it still ran a true 54mph on the GPS @ 5200rpm. A.L. (owner of Glasstream) can sure make some pretty boats. Back then durability was not quite up to some of the other higher end sport/perfomrmance boat mfg's, but from what I have seen, they have improved that area since then. I'll try to get a pic of it next week. Stephen |
