camera
I was looking at the canon rebel series and wondered if anyone knows if they take good video( if any video at all) and if they make waterproof cases for them. Im looking to spend under a grand. Also, if anyone else knows of a good camera (out of the water too) please let me know!
Appreciate it

Awesome camera! The video quality is second to none. The camera and lens is around $800 which isnt bad. However...The absolute cheapest case for it is 1400 and that does NOT include the lenses and domes for the housing (each $200-$800). Im currently undecided at what case Im gonna go with. If I can sell my truck im going with the nauticam housing. If I cant sell it any time soon then ill stick with the Ikelite. *edit* if youre looking for mostly video I HIGHLY recommend the contour cameras. Absolutely NO comparison to the go-pro. Blows it away! The old camera I had was great. Panasonic fx37, did excellent photos and really good video and the whole set up is about $500. It was nice and compact so I could take it with me everywhere as opposed to a bigger housing like the canon needs.

Re: camera
$2500 is a safe estimate if you stick with an ikelite housing. Otherwise a nauticam or aquatica housing is about $3000 alone.

Re: camera
I have a Canon 60D with a SPL Housing. The camera body with a 18-135mm lens is about $1300 but it takes awesome video in 720p or 1080. The housing was a little more then the camera but it was worth it this thing can take a beating.
