2 part PU foam density to fill floats?
I was wondering what is the recommended foam density to fill my lifeguard cans. I do not want the them crushing if a larger fish takes them down nor do I want them to weight more than they need to. I know the answer depends on depth but is 2lb adequate for most uses.
http://www.uscomposites.com/foam.html Thanks, Ross Woops. should have used the search function. here it is http://www.spearboard.com/showthread...=urethane+foam |

The 4 an d 6 lbs versions have much higher values for to resist crushing etc. I have been eyeing the same products (us composites is by my home) for another project. 4 pound and six pound have much better Strengthqualities from what I read

I agree, go with a higher number than 2, if you are going for anything that could take it down. Styro will crush and it is maybe equal to 2.

Re: 2 part PU foam density to fill floats?
I filled two lifeguard cans today with 1 cubic foot of 4lb, 2 part foam. Each can takes about 1/2 cubic foot in case anyone want to do the same. I had enough for both but not much more.
