the meat is actually nice and firm and not stinky. they are just as easy to kill as any other fish. i have had them come after me when speared and just prior to spearing though. the outside slime is what stinks. the slim is used to reduce friction, allowing them to swim faster in spurts. heres one..

I know that record's real because it has come up before, but, I still say that pic is photoshopped. The first thing that gives it away is how the fish is hanging, it should be more straight down the way the guy is holding it. The finer details are the white and black outlines.
