Best way to mount a GoPro on Koah 120 with reel?
I know a few ways, but was wondering what's the best. Any input is appreciated, thanks!

I like that mount but it seems almost overkill; I wouldn’t want it to get tangled up in my reel line whilst fighting a decent sized fish >40lbs. Have you personally used this when a lot of reel line has been in the water? Also the drag is something I worry about doing deeper drops

Re: Best way to mount a GoPro on Koah 120 with reel?
Hey Alec for both my Go Pro and my flashlight I like to use these low profile aluminum mounts on my koah or any other wood gun. Then I use an aluminum extension arm if I want it extended out away from the gun further to stay away from line etc. For a gun mounted light you can use an aluminum handlebar/seatpost mount around the barrel of the light and then it just screws directly into the mounts like the picture above. I'll try to post a picture of the setup when I am home.
As far as flashlight mounts go, it is important to use one that can be rotated 90 degrees so you can tilt the light up or down as needed. The best flashlight (handlebar/ seatpost) mount i have found is "atozi" off ebay. Because they are an aluminum mount and a stainless screw, you will want to remove and lube the screws every once in a while so they don't corrode together. Not fun to get those out. Pic of the extensions I use for the camera
I have used the plastic ones but have broken them when pushing your gun into a hole or under a tight ledge. Now I just use the metal ones. |
