Buzzbomb style flasher material

Saw these on amazon. Probably the same stuff the wine box bags are made of. Haven't ordered any but thought I'd share since I've seen people on here say they can't find the reflective wine bags anymore. A LOT cheaper too.

Nice find. Have you used this yet? The bags I have are 2mil so I wonder how the 5 will behave in the water.

I have not tried yet. Going to order some soon though. There's plenty of bags in different thicknesses on Amazon. I would imagine the 5 mil is still really flexible

I believe the True method of making a South African Buzz Bomb includes drinking the wine box. Atleast that is how I was taught by mates.

Re: Buzzbomb style flasher material

I tried to do the traditional route, but I don't know if it's hippie CA, or the US, but all the boxed wines only have the plastic material. I still keep an eye out, but still no dice. Here is one I made. Since it didn't come with the wine I had to drink some Jameson instead.

I've checked too. All of the new boxes of wine have clear bags. I was thinking about making one out of some old mylar balloons I'll find on the beach. At least give them another purpose

Do pop-tarts still come in that type of material?

Re: Buzzbomb style flasher material

I would think balloons would work pretty well, not so much on the pop-tart bag though. Those are pretty small and thin. I bought a 2 ml roll of mylar sheeting from the garden section in amazon. They have worked for a couple dunkings in the water and I have yards of material left when they fall apart.

I have looked for the box wine also with no luck. It's always been a clear bag.

You and me both. I think Chris Coates was selling them for a while. Kind of pricey though. I was trying to find some mirrored acrylic and making them myself, but no dice yet.

Re: Buzzbomb style flasher material

I had the same hopes for CDs, but quickly deflated the first time taken out. Here is Chris Coates message from his YouTube post regarding the acrylic fish. Not sure if he still has them. Try shooting him an email.

"Hey guys I have a limited number of flasher discs available. 10 discs (unfortunately with out eyes) posted anywhere for $30USD drop me a mail with postal address and I will send a PayPay request. email: saltydiver@gmail.com"

Re: Buzzbomb style flasher material

You can buy small squares of plexiglass at a home improvement store. Cut out the shape you like, smooth out the edges with sand paper, heat and bend if you want..... add the stick on flasher tape and eyes from fishing tackle supply.....
