DIY floatline

Here is my recipe for a great inexpensive float line and buoy.
1/4" Yellow Polypropylene hollow braid (West Marine)# 11477320 $.48 pr. ft. at the length of choice
8.5"x27" Red Hull Guard fender #9446253 $62.99
The line is super easy to splice, highly visible, floats and could be stored easily in a bucket without holding memory.
The fender is bright red and super strong and has virtually no drag in the water.

home depot has foam filled line of $10 for a hundred feet I use on my buoys for diving wrecks with shot lead so not to destroy, I bring shot bags up and line floats just like the floatlines I see here on SB.

COuld this be used for wishbone line? surely thats a little too heavy and a little too thin for float line (what kinda cheap tubing could it go in?). I have a tendency to get all tangled up in the skinny stuff.

We use the cheap $10 per 100 foot stuff down here in Louisiana. Biggest we've landed so far on it was a 177lb and a 155lb tuna, so it'll do the trick, unless you shooting tuna in Mexico, or blue fins or something...don't know of too many creatures built for power like tuna.
