Re: There's A Tale In My Surfer...
I'm callin BS without any pictures
I'd love to hear how the reel worked out in a little more detail though Congrats buddy! Nothing to be ashamed of a 13lbr. I shot one smaller than that last week and trust me, I'm stoked! Doesn't matter how big they are, they ALL taste great! Plus, it took me 3 LONG years to get my first ya bastard!

"13.6 is 13.6 regardless of the fact that you bled it"
While this is true, it is ALSO TRUE that a WSB is a WSB at that weight still.... be proud, dont shoot any small ones from now on. You are part of the club, tell balta to kiss your ass Dont get wrapped around the axles of minutiae That is all

Re: There's A Tale In My Surfer...
goddamn, glad you finally got one.
Balta and Hughes know what's up. Now you need to go shoot a WSB, not something that looks like one, only smaller. |

Re: There's A Tale In My Surfer...
BTW, I shot one that size today after, um, "passing", on a 70+++ pounder.
The little ones tase better... That's what I keep telling myself at least. The sashimi is damn good though. |

Re: There's A Tale In My Surfer...
Lined up on one today, had plenty of time, guessing around the 20 pound mark. Pulled on the trigger, nothin' happened. Safety was off, unbanded the gun, pulled trigger again, shaft disengaged. No idea what happened...

Re: There's A Tale In My Surfer...
Are you serious bro. You still have your stupid safety still on your gun???? That's my fault for not taking care of one of the first thing I should have taken care of.

And imagine that Tanc, you get one under your belt and you start seeing fish immediately. That first hurtle is the tough one, and once you get one under your belt, you start to relax, and then you start seeing them. Damn seabass are such a headgame

Re: There's A Tale In My Surfer...
If Mori is in today I'll go to his shop to get it looked at- i need new reel line anyway (yeah, let's not get into that...). Otherwise I'll head to my "sponsor" to get it assessed.
On a positive note, at least it didn't jam on a 60 pounder.

Good job "Frank the Tank". Did you eat the heart boy? If you dont eat the heart of your fisrt fish then you may never catch another one.
Tailsurfer ate his first sheephead heart... and thats why he is such a productive sheepie hunter. |

Re: There's A Tale In My Surfer...
Safety was "off" but nice work on getting the title reference. I knew there was some brains in there, somewhere. Maybe it dissipates as the day gets on.

Re: There's A Tale In My Surfer...
You need to work on your material mate, repeating gags already? Surely the current alcohol infused binge will have you come up with something new. Keep working at it, I have faith in you boy.
And I'm starting to like this Frank thing, it's endearing.
