All About Pole Spears & Slings What is it about that traditional method of the early hunter/gatherers under the water? These devices are indeed interesting and effective.

Piledriver pole spear

Looking for a polespear and wondering if anyone knows how this compares to other heavy duty pole spears on the market in terms of speed, power, and durability.

Might be too late but I have a Keller Aquatics pole spear and freaking love it its a beast. Its only and 8 ft guide spear but I've taken out hogs grouper and even got a 37 inch cobia with it. Its all around a good pole

Re: Piledriver pole spear

If you could get it heavily discounted I would say go for it. In terms of a lot of bang for your buck I'd recommend taking a look at (in no particular order) spears made by Crist Spears, Linghunt, Gatku, Mantis (makers of roller muzzles), Foldspear or Sea Stinger.

A competitor to the headhunter I'd say is the riffe carbon fiber spear.

Each has their own cool features that make them unique, but all will get the job done quite well.

Shucks I built my own pole spears for under $60 a pop and took my first two fish with them today.

Re: Piledriver pole spear

I am looking to pick up a big game spear, but haven't seen any reviews of the piledriver. Anyone use one that could give any feedback?

Re: Piledriver pole spear

The Neretic polespear is very high quality. Got one for winning a tourney recently, it is very strong and well thought out.
