Where to free dive for lobster in San Diego
My son is turning 17 today. We've been daytime lobster diving in Dana Point and San Clemente for months, from the shore mostly. We catch a fair amount of them but almost never a keeper.
For his birthday, I was thinking of taking him to La Jolla Cove or Catalina or somewhere we'd have a better chance of catching a keeper lobster. Anyone have suggestions about where we should go? I know it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so I don't know if there will be enough rain to kill visibility. But I know he'd like to go out somewhere diving. Thank you! |

Go wherever it's not blown up

Make sure you have your lobster card filled out for you and your son before you dive. And, make sure you do not dive in the MLPAs. I know the DFG has been pretty heavy in La Jolla lately.
