I’m considering moving to St Augustine for work and wanted to ask if anyone knows if there is good spearfishing out of that area??

Re: St Augistine??
Its pretty good if you're willing to take a boat ride. Viz can be hit or miss and most of your decent spots are 20+ out. But lots of fish to kill and lobster the size of your thigh

Re: St Augistine??
Spearfishing is great out of St. A. You have to get used to a longer boat ride (20 to 40 nm) and diving deeper than much of South Fl (80 to 140 feet), but the sheer biomass and lack of crowds makes it very worthwhile for me. Every time I dive South FL I wonder "where are the fish?" That far out the viz is more hit than miss and with a little recon, you usually know how the viz is before you decide to go. Northeast Florida is extremely underrated.

Re: St Augistine??
St Aug is OK, but 30 miles to the north is extremely good, tons of wrecks, ledges and reef. And probably more fish than you have ever seen before. Now, if it was only legal to shoot anything.
