I'm Looking for a good Beach Camp Site
So...Per usual, I've made no plans for the upcoming long weekend and thought I would appeal to the collective knowledge of the board for a good idea.
I am looking to go car camping in a beach location that is remote enough to where I don't need to worry about letting my dogs off leash but not so remote that its more than a 5 hour drive from LA. If there is decent shore diving, that would be great, but its not a must, since my wife will be there. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: I'm Looking for a good Beach Camp Site
Leo Carrillo in Malibu is a favorite of mine. Multiple kelp beds within a ten minute drive north and south and all can be easily dove from shore.
A friend in Santa Barbara has been trying to get me to go up to Refugio, that is supposed to be a great one as well. There are also a few campgrounds in San Diego that offer shore dive access, but they suck when it comes to having some space to yourself at camp. They are essentially a parking lot. I used to take my Volkswagen down to San Elijo for surf trips and made a few dives, but never saw much, but I know it can produce.
