Fii Freediver Level 1 course review with Instructor Robert Little
I've been wanting to take a Freediving class ever since I got SCUBA certified at 18 and now was my chance. I saw on spearboard that there was a class being held in Bradenton FL and I live just south of there so I signed up. I had never heard of Robert before, but I can tell you now that he knows what he's doing and is good at it. Robert called me and all of the students in the class and ask them about their gear, their experience in the water and so forth. He gave us the magic breathing exercise to do as homework over the phone a few days before class. I wasn't doing it right, and in the classroom session after a few minutes he had me on track and doing it 100%.
When we got into the pool, magic started happening for me. I was able to hold my breath for 1:45 static before I took the class, and that day in the pool I hit 3:00. Robert was talking to me at 2:00, and that helped me keep going. I try to hear him when I do statics at home now. The boat trip was ok, not anyone's fault. it was rough by Gulf of Mexico standards and the water was damn cold. I was able to do about 30-35 ft before the course and I got down to 57ft and couldn't clear my left ear, I felt as if I could have gone to 66ft (course maximum). If you are thinking about taking a course, I highly recommend Fii / Robert Little. The materials presented in the course and my instructor made this course worthwhile for me, and I would take it again. Total cost of the course was $400 and that may seem like alot at first, but afterwards you see how valuable it really was. Take a Freediving course, it really is beneficial in every aspect. If anything it helped my confidence because I knew a certified instructor was right there if I had any problems. I haven't been diving since, but I feel that the skills I learned and practice at home will help me get even deeper. Thanks Fii and Robert! |

beandip613 ( Tyler), Sorry I didn't comment sooner. Just saw this post. Thanks for the good words. You did a great job as did everyone else. Your ready for level 2 now. You would have definitely maxed the course depth if it wasn't for your ear. it was probably the cold. Cold effects me at times also. Look forward to diving with you more. If anyone is looking for my classes follow link below or call me at 954-806-3447. Adding more dates and possible locations this weekend.
