Visiting Maui
I will be in Maui 9/29-10/06, I am bringing my gear. I have been to Maui before and speared. Looking for a buddy to go spearing while there.

Re: Visiting Maui
I'm heading over there tomorrow, I'll be in Kaanapali. Did you dive? I've never been diving in Hawaii, and don't know if I should bring my gun or not. Is it pretty easy to shoredive?

Re: Visiting Maui
I ended up diving quite a bit but chose to leave the speargun in the car. I was mostly on the south shore amd didn't see a whole lot of target fish. I did speak to some of the locals who said that the north shore is where its at. Lol they said ot was like a "desert" on this side compared to over there. Oh well there's always next year. Good luck on your trip.

Re: Visiting Maui
Greetings, I tried to do some research on legally catching lobster in Hawaii and read some confusing things. Do you need a fishing license? Is it only the males that can be taken? Any size limits? Much appreciated!
