Wind, Waves data

I found this interesting so I'm sharing a link. Can't zoom in too close and I haven't figured out if there is a way to see the data driving the graphics (eg wind speed) but it is a cool graphical interface. If you click "earth" you are able to adjust settings, change from air speed/direction to waves, currents etc.

Also, if someone is aware of a handy tool that's easy to use with regard to wind, waves, etc I'd be interested to know. Marine forecasts (marine.weather.gov) I've been using are OK when it comes to wind

Re: Wind, Waves data

Yeah someone showed me windfinder a few days ago. I have the free version and plan to check its accuracy next time I'm out

Neat. I use intellicast wind forecast. I don't believe you'll find anything accurate on wave height. There's just too many variables. You can check the buoys.

What up, Bouy!

Looks like that one in near the Middle Grounds peaked about 40 miles/hr.

Re: Wind, Waves data

I use these two combined with Intellicast. Don't even bother with NOAA anymore
