Pics... Freediving Florida Springs

Hey guys,

Here are some images I took while I was freediving Ginnie Spring and Ichetucknee Blue Hole Spring in North Florida. I was there with my brother. If you haven't had a change to experience the Florida Springs, I highly recommend it to anyone! These places are also very family-friendly. I've brought my son and wife a few times.

All images where shot with a Nikon D7000, Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye lens, Nauticam NA-7000V housing with a Zen 100mm glass port.

Peace, Errol

Those are some great pics...how deep is that hole? I went to UF and went down Ginnie springs a few times...always was on an tube with a cooler full of beer though! Never knew it was a popular freediving spot.

Unfortunately, Troy was flooded over and browned out! I went up for a quick trip to get my brother out of the house...

We'll definitely dive again!

Peace, Errol

Great pics! I recognize several as I've free dived all of Ginnie. It's funny to see the expression on the training cave divers with their 2 tons of gear strapped on at the bottom of Ginnie when I come up next to them free diving and hang out. The all start shining their cave lights at me like I'm the most interesting thing down there.
I also enjoy surfacing by pulling my self along the ceiling...watching the 'water fall' like bubbles cascading up the ceiling. Of course the UF girls in swimsuits are always nice to look at in that clear water as well.

You wouldn't believe the stuff I've pulled from free diving the river on the float trail...especially downstream of the rope swings.
Very fond memories of that place. Some things better left unsaid.

Re: Pics... Freediving Florida Springs

We have a few up off the panhandle vortex and Morrison are popular. Perfect training during the winter. I've been wanting to make a trip over and find tombstone. That place looks so magical. I've also heard of some over 100 vertical feet on the same river as Morrison but you need a local to help you find it. Maybe I'll get a shot at it this summer and post it! Great shots! There a gem for Florida and its free divers!
